Sir Elton John and Katherine Jenkins at Stoke Park Country Club

Sports Aid Concerts July, 2014
Providing a camera filming package and side-stage LED screens, we captured the action from all angles to enhance the visual experience.

Set in the grounds of Stoke Park Country Club, young athletes’ charity SportsAid hosted an open-air concert on Saturday 28th June which saw Sir Elton John perform live to launch a new charitable fund that will provide vital financial support to budding sports stars. Making full use of the stage space, the Stoke Park Country Club went on to host the internationally-acclaimed mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins in concert the following evening.

Production Manager Mark Berry appointed us to provide a camera filming package of both events along with side-stage LED screens to enhance the visual experience. Using our multi-camera HD Portable Production Unit, three Sony HXC-100 broadcast cameras, a Bradley HD mini-camera and a remote control pan-tilt HD camera on stage, we were able to capture the action from all angles. We even operated a Helijib camera helicopter to capture aerial footage so all bases were covered! The live camera action was then expertly directed by vision mixer and director Phil Jennings.

Additionally, we provided a Catalyst media server and IMAG camera signal processing equipment to deliver video playback of sponsor advertisements and close up shots of the artists on the 4.5mx6m portrait LED screens. We supplied a total of 54sqm of EverBrighten 7mm outdoor LED display which, in combination with the our HD cameras, provided a really sharp and strong image. We also ensured that key elements of the event were recorded at HD and provided footage to the client on easily accessible SSD hard-drives for future use.
